Some Gave All

Memorial day weekend Sonny and I packed up on Friday afternoon and head West to visit  his Cajun grandparents. On the way down we stopped in Baton Rouge and I treated Sonny to his first Jack In the Box burger! Pure yummness! He enjoyed it so much we stopped back by on the way home.

His grandparents live in a house that goes on forever and has great fixtures and decor from the 60s and 70s. Directly behind their house is Tina's sheep farm and let me tell you they are as cute as a Serta commercial.

Saturday Sonny and his Papaw cooked crawfish and we ate on them until time for bed.

We also went across the basin that is flooded. It was really sad to see homes with water to the roof line.

We never do much but visit and enjoy the quiet and eat and until we literally can't eat anymore but his granny's unmatched hospitality just can't be beat!

Sonny's dad, his pawpa, and Sonny. I snapped this picture literally as we were walking out the door!

On Monday for Memorial Day the Hill/Todds, The Hovatter's, and The Welch's gather by the kiddie pool with yummy grilled food!

Late afternoon when a small shower moved in we went in doors and played battle of the sexes for couples. I feel pretty sure we were no where close to following the rules but boy did we get some interesting answers and some interesting looks!

For this weekend I'm so grateful to all of our troops. They sacrifice their time, families, kiddie pool parties, fast food, and sadly for some their lives. See we can have wonderful weekends in a Country we are so blessed to live in! GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOP <3

We'll Go Coastal on Ya

Most everyone knows Sonny and I go to the beach as much as possible during the Spring, Summer, and Fall. Usually 2-3 weekends out of the month. We celebrated our 8 year anniversary on May 27th. The weekend before Sonny got Kenny Chesney Tickets for us and it was amazing.

We drove down that morning and Sonny fished and I layed out. We stayed with Chris, Amber and their new bundle of joy Tinsley. Sonny and Chris were roommates for a while when Sonny lived in Gulf Shores.

Meet Tinsely Raigne

Sonny holding an infant is just the sweetest thing even if he is scared to death <3

The show was at the Wharf which is in my opinion one of the best concert venues not a bad seat in the house!

The Hovatter's =)

Kenny was pretty spectacular played about two hours.
Billy Currington open and he was pretty great himself!
